Iain Hart joined the Alliance for Automotive Innovation in 2025. Previously, Iain spent more than a decade working on Capitol Hill for five Democratic Members of Congress including six years for a senior Member of the House Committee on Transportation and Infrastructure, as Deputy Chief of Staff and Legislative Director. During his tenure as a Congressional staffer, Iain overhauled the federal regulations for the international ocean shipping industry for the first time since 1998, implemented a ZEV-mandate for the U.S. Department of Defense's fleet of 175,000 nontactical vehicles, and secured a landmark amendment to the Outer Continental Shelf Lands Act of 1953, on which the American Bar Association later published on article entitled, "The Garamendi Amendment: How Four Words Changed The Entire Offshore Wind Industry In America."

Iain began his career in the auto industry the summer after graduating high school, working as a lot porter for his hometown Subaru, Chrysler, Jeep, Mazda dealership in northern Minnesota. He graduated from St. Lawrence University in upstate New York with a B.A. in International Economics and History.
